SJSU Counselor Education Program Enhances Student Impact

Staff Report / sjlocal.org

San Jose State University is highlighting the hands-on work of its Counselor Education program, which is sending students into schools across the greater Bay Area. Amy Gutierrez, a graduate from the program, serves as the graduate fieldwork supervisor and emphasizes the impact that counselors can have in transforming lives.

Currently, students are placed at various field sites, including Lawson High School with counselor Vason, Amador High School with counselor Amador, and HSS with counselor Washington. This field experience is part of the university's efforts to develop the next generation of educators and counselors.

For more detailed insights, the latest issue of #SJSUWSQ offers additional coverage on how these experiences shape future professionals. The publication can be accessed through the link provided.
