Los Angeles County Youth Entrepreneurship Academy Now Open

The Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity is offering a Youth Entrepreneurship Academy for high school and community college students who are interested in building their own businesses. The academy is hosted by Next Shift Learning and is designed to teach participants how to create, market, and sell products, develop a brand, and utilize new tools and technologies.

The application period is open until the program reaches full capacity. There are two cohorts scheduled to start: Cohort 1 begins on October 1, and Cohort 2 starts on October 17. The program will run for six weeks, with classes held once a week for two hours.

Classes will be conducted in person at the NVCS Best Buy Teen Tech Center located at 15453 Rayen Street, Los Angeles, CA 91443. The classes are offered on Tuesdays from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM and Thursdays from 4 PM to 6 PM. The program is conducted in English.

Students aged 14 to 26 who wish to enroll can apply by visiting lacountyemi.com or calling 747-397-9070. For application information, select the option for “Join the Youth Entrepreneurship Academy.” This initiative aims to provide students with hands-on experience and assist them in developing a solid business plan.
