North Port Hurricane Milton Clean-Up Underway: Guidelines Reminder

Staff Report / NPlocal.org

The City of North Port is currently engaged in clean-up efforts following Hurricane Milton. Residents are thanked for properly placing yard waste and debris curbside, which helps facilitate the clean-up process.

City officials remind residents not to place debris in swales or near fire hydrants, mailboxes, or backflow meters. Doing so can disrupt the stormwater drainage system and potentially damage property and infrastructure.

For additional information on yard waste guidelines, residents can visit NorthPortFL.gov/YardWaste. Those seeking to access Solid Waste online forms can go to NorthPortFL.gov/SolidWasteForms. Frequently asked questions regarding storm debris can be found at NorthPortFL.gov/Alerts.

If residents have questions about debris collection, they are encouraged to contact Public Works Customer Service at 941-240-8050. The office will reopen on Tuesday, October 15, following the Columbus Day holiday.

City officials appreciate the community's cooperation and patience as they work to clean up North Port efficiently.
