Wake County Arts Week Empowers Student Growth

Wake County Public Schools in Apex, North Carolina, recently concluded Arts in Education Week. During the event, Rebecca Craig, a theatre teacher at Green Level High School, highlighted the importance of the arts in students’ personal and academic development.

Rebecca Craig stated that engagement in the arts helps students build confidence and resilience while fostering a sense of community. Megan of the Class of 2025 was quoted saying, “We not only develop as artists but as people.” According to Craig, theatre not only facilitates the development of lasting friendships but also encourages hard work and self-discovery.

The event emphasized how arts education contributes to students’ growth, character building, and the development of lifelong skills throughout Wake County Public Schools.
