City of Ithaca to Install New Smart Water Meters; Appointments Required

The City of Ithaca Public Works Department is working with East National Water, LLC to install new water meter radios that match the City’s system. There’s no cost to residents for this upgrade.

The installation is required, and officials say about a one-hour appointment will be scheduled at each home. For safety, installers will be in uniform, driving company vehicles, and carrying photo ID. Someone 18 years or older must be home during the installation.

To set up an appointment, residents can call East National Water at 1-800-252-8556 or 833-488-4580 (8:00 AM–4:30 PM). If callers contact outside those hours, they may need to leave a message. Appointments can also be scheduled online at: http://eastnationalwater.com/schedule/ using the Ithaca link and your 5-digit code (found on your mailing label).

Questions can be directed to the City of Ithaca at 607-274-6580 (9:00 AM–4:00 PM).

Before the appointment, please make sure the area around your water meter (where the water line enters your home) is easy to access.
