DC Water urges water conservation during Drought Watch
Washington, D.C. — DC Water says every drop matters in its message about conserving water during a Drought Watch. Small changes at home can make a big difference across the region, the agency says.
During the Drought Watch this week, DC Water suggests residents adopt the following simple water-saving habits:
- Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth.
- Take a shorter shower.
- Run full loads in the dishwasher and washing machine.

All American Freeway, Fort Bragg gate closure planned for restoration
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 24-month closure of sections of the All American Freeway and the Fort Bragg gate is planned this summer to replace the Gruber Road bridge and repair highway settling, shutting the Gruber Road overpass and interchange and the freeway segment between Gruber and Zabitosky roads in both directions, with the Fort Bragg Visitors Center remaining open and a $15.5 million contract awarded to Highland Paving to carry out the work in a project intended to speed construction, reduce costs and improve safety.
