Superintendent Welcomes Students Back After Hurricane

On October 24, 2023, Terry Connor, the Superintendent of Sarasota County Schools, along with Fiona McFarland from the Florida House of Representatives, visited Gulf Gate Elementary and Ashton Elementary. This visit marked the first day back for students after Hurricane Milton. During their time at the schools, Connor and McFarland welcomed students and heard personal accounts from shelter managers, workers, and staff who experienced the impact of the storm.
