Harmar, a prominent lift manufacturer based in Sarasota County, has established itself as the largest provider of stair lifts and wheelchair lifts in the United States. The company's CEO, Steve Dawson, announced that Harmar has experienced significant growth, expanding its sales, physical space, and workforce, including adding 100,000 square feet to its facilities since 2024.

Founded in 1998, Harmar specializes in improving mobility and accessibility for customers of all ages. The Economic Development Corporation (EDC) of Sarasota County congratulated Harmar on its success and expressed enthusiasm for continuing their partnership.

In a statement during the 2024 EDC Annual Meeting video, Dawson shared positive feedback about his experience working with the EDC, highlighting its support in various aspects including facility needs, staffing, and programs for employee assistance.
