In mid‐August, hundreds of donated items at the Shops at Ithaca Mall will go on sale at Dump & Run. The event, which has been organized since 2003, offers good-quality used merchandise at major discounts. Volunteers logged around 3,000 hours over four months transporting and sorting tens of thousands of donations. Items include clothing, water bottles, sports balls, furniture, floor lamps, and more. A volunteer was seen moving a black mini-fridge to join other donated refrigerators among a variety of other items. Karen Brown, a senior director in Student & Campus Life, noted that without the sale many items could end up discarded. The event is popular with both college students and local residents.
