Sarasota Sheriff Honors APCO Communications Staff
Sarasota County Sheriff Hoffman announced that two members of the Emergency Operations Bureau were recognized Tuesday, June 16, by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO).
Emergency Operations Manager Michael Speigle was named the 2026 Florida APCO Chapter Manager of the Year. The sheriff’s office said Speigle was nominated by his peers and selected for contributions including being a team player, years of service in public safety communications positions, interactions with staff and the public, and leadership abilities, among other criteria.
Communications Operator III Amanda Brockner received the 2026 Florida APCO Chapter Trainer of the Year award. The sheriff’s office said Brockner met the criteria by making a difference on the team, demonstrating knowledge and flexibility in her assignments, and continually demonstrating professionalism and dedication in her role.
The sheriff’s office said congratulations were extended to both employees.
