Sheriff’s Office Arrests Woman in Sarasota Bar Burglary
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kara Jane Rose Plocharsky, born 03/24/95, on one count of burglary, the agency said.
Deputies responded in the early morning hours of June 4 to an active alarm at the 8 Ball Lounge, 3527 Webber Road, just before 4:00 a.m. The first deputies on scene found the glass front door had been shattered. A perimeter was set up, and a K-9 team searched the building with no results.
Investigators reviewed surveillance footage, which they said showed a female wearing a motorcycle helmet shattering the front door and entering the establishment. Detectives said she went to the bar area and pushed dozens of liquor bottles off the top of the bar, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
Detectives said they positively identified Plocharsky as the person in the video. With assistance from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, she was arrested Wednesday morning in Manatee County.
According to the sheriff’s office, Plocharsky was also arrested on two Sarasota Police Department warrants tied to burglaries that occurred on the same morning at the Green Zebra Café and The Met.
