St. Charles County Fire Rehab was alerted by its scanners to another residential structure fire about 24 hours after a Sunday call.

The second incident occurred in the northern part of O’Fallon. Four volunteers responded, with two assigned to the truck and two to the scene.

On arrival, multiple crews were still working to ensure the fire was out. The responders were also soaked from the rain. Their first task was setting up water for the firefighters. After setting up one of their canopies for cover, responders mixed Gatorade and set out snacks.

After about 1.5 hours on scene, the Fire Rehab team was released and returned to service. They then went back to the station where most items had to be set out to dry. Rehab 1 was restocked and is awaiting the next call.

Organizers thanked the area fire crews for their work, listing O'Fallon Fire Protection District, Lake Saint Louis Fire Protection District, Central County Fire & Rescue, and St. Charles County Ambulance District.

St. Charles County Fire Rehab responded to a fire in St. Charles City after it broke out around 2:30 p.m. and provided cooling and supplies to first responders. The group also helped displaced residents with temporary shelter and started Red Cross contact.
