Sarasota County lifeguard, Mariano Martinez, was recognized by Good Morning America for his heroic actions on June 22. During the morning segment, it was reported that Mariano rescued seven distressed swimmers on Lido Beach. Additionally, he assisted two swimmers who were caught in a rip current and carried more than 200 yards into the Gulf of Mexico.
