The Wicomico Public Library Paul S. Sarbanes Branch is collaborating with the Art League of Ocean City to showcase "Stigma Highlighted: Portraits of Recovery" in support of National Recovery Month and Wicomico Goes Purple. The project features portraits and personal stories of twelve individuals from Worcester, Wicomico, Talbot, and Somerset counties.

The project includes a traveling exhibit where local artists created portraits based on the individuals' stories, as well as recorded interviews that can be accessed through QR codes. A 15-minute video aimed at educating young people about addiction and recovery will be shown in schools along with the exhibit and a guide to resources.

Future plans for the project include producing a full-length documentary that will delve deeper into individual stories and the impact of addiction on families, with insights from healthcare professionals.
