**Wake County Highlights Firefighter Cancer Awareness in January**

Wake County government in Raleigh, North Carolina, is dedicating the month of January to #FireFighterCancerAwareness. The initiative aims to educate the community and support firefighters who face an increased risk of cancer due to their profession.

As part of the campaign, Wake County has released Part 2 of a four-part video series featuring Chief Keith Wilder, Safety Chief for the Raleigh Fire Department. Chief Wilder is an expert on the connection between firefighting and cancer. This segment provides critical insights into the occupational hazards firefighters face and sheds light on preventative measures and awareness.

The effort involves collaboration with several fire departments in the region, including Rolesville Fire Department, Wake Forest Fire Department, Zebulon Fire Department, Knightdale Fire Department, and Fire Dept-Fuquay Varina. Also participating are the Holly Springs Fire Department, Garner Fire Rescue, Town of Apex Fire Department, Morrisville Fire Department, Northern Wake Fire Department, and more.

The campaign encourages the public to learn more by visiting wake.gov/firecancer, where updates and additional resources are available. Part 3 of the video series is expected soon.
