**Olive Chapel Elementary Celebrates Outstanding Staff Members**

This week, the Apex Public School Foundation (APSF) Shoutout recognized two exceptional staff members from Olive Chapel Elementary School: Lead Secretary Melissa Dickens and 5th-Grade Teacher Shannon Pittman. Their hard work, dedication, and positive influence have made a significant impact on the school community.

Melissa Dickens serves as the school's Lead Secretary and Bookkeeper. She is praised for her professionalism and kindness, creating a welcoming environment for substitute teachers and maintaining a professional atmosphere. Melissa is also highly meticulous in handling the school’s finances, ensuring resources are optimally used for the school’s needs. Her teamwork, positivity, and support for others have solidified her reputation as a vital member of the Olive Chapel Elementary School community.

Shannon Pittman, a 5th-grade teacher, was also recognized for her exceptional contributions. She is known for her unwavering belief in her students and her efforts to empower them in their learning. Mrs. Pittman writes positive notes to students and provides small tokens of appreciation to show her genuine care for their well-being. Her dedication extends to helping her team plan engaging lessons and serving as an intervention case manager to support both students and teachers. Her thoughtfulness and commitment to education make her an irreplaceable part of Olive Chapel Elementary.

This recognition was made possible with the support of local businesses, including FRESH. Local Ice Cream and McDonald's, which helped celebrate the APSF Shoutout honorees.

The Olive Chapel Elementary community, including its PTA, Wake County Public School System, and the Town of Apex Government, extends their heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to Melissa Dickens and Shannon Pittman for going above and beyond every day as part of the Olive Chapel Clippers team. Keep sailing!
