On October 16, 1965, during Homecoming Weekend at Geneva, New York, Hobart and William Smith Colleges dedicated the Robert A. Bristol Gymnasium. The dedication ceremony took place during a morning convocation where several dignitaries were awarded honorary degrees. One of the honorees was Stan Musial, who would later be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. The event was part of the colleges’ convocation activities and took place at ten o’clock in the morning.
