Jenny Sabin Advances Art, Design, and Technology at Cornell

Staff Report / FLXlocal.org

Jenny Sabin, a professor and chair of the new Department of Design Tech at Cornell University College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, has been making significant contributions since her arrival at Cornell in 2011. She established a research and design lab on campus and also set up a client-based design studio in downtown Ithaca.

Her work is known for its fabric-and-fiber sculptures, which are infused with light and technology. These sculptures are installed in various locations, including atriums and courtyards, and they explore the connections between art, architecture, and science. Sabin's multidisciplinary approach has created a strong presence in the field, merging different areas of expertise.
