In the Facebook post, the department said it remembers Mitchell through the “many memories shared with him” and the impact he had on people around him. The department described Mitchell as a friend to many who was “always willing to lend a hand,” share a laugh, and brighten the day with his smile.

The department said it is especially thinking of Mitchell’s family, friends, and coworkers as they reflect on his life and the memories they shared. It added that, though a year has passed, Mitchell “remains in our thoughts and in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
