Suspect Arrested in Salisbury Pizza Burglary Cases
Staff Report / salisburylocal.org
On September 7, 2024, officers from the Salisbury Police Department responded to MayaBella's Pizza and Wings, located at 1000 W. Isabella St., following a report of a burglary that occurred overnight while the business was closed. Officers returned to the pizza establishment on September 11 after a second burglary was reported under similar circumstances. In both incidents, cash was stolen.
During the investigation, 37-year-old William Cheeks was identified as a suspect in the burglaries. On September 12, an application for charges was submitted to the District Court Commissioner's Office, which resulted in a warrant being issued for Mr. Cheeks. He was taken into custody later that day in the 100 block of Market St.
The Salisbury Police Department credited the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office for their assistance during the investigation. The public is encouraged to report any information related to these incidents by contacting the Salisbury Police Department at (410) 548-3165 or anonymously through Crime Solvers at (410) 548-1776.
