Freeze Warning Enacted for Philadelphia Region
The National Weather Service in Philadelphia issued a freeze warning for parts of the region Monday night into Tuesday morning and Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. For tonight, a freeze is likely in Berks County, the Lehigh Valley, northwest New Jersey, and areas further north and west. For Tuesday night, a freeze is very likely in most of the region, except for immediate coastal areas. Low temperatures are expected to be in the 20s across the region, with mid-30s possible along the immediate coast.
Farmers and gardeners with cold-sensitive plants are advised to take steps to protect them over the next two nights. The average date of the last spring freeze for most of the region has not yet occurred.

Pittsburgh launches CitiSports Spring League for high schoolers
Pittsburgh Parks & Recreation announced the CitiSports Spring League for high school students at Arlington Recreation Center in Pittsburgh, which will begin April 17, 2025, with games from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursdays at 2201 Salisbury St., Pittsburgh, PA 15210; the coed program is open to students ages 19 and younger who are still enrolled in high school, requires teams to register with each team providing its own shirts, and registration can be arranged by contacting Recreation Supervisor Ebony Randall at 412-740-8744, with Learn and Earn representatives on site to assist applicants.
