Boise State Alumnus Conducts Boise Baroque Orchestra

Daniel Wiley, a Boise State University alumnus with a BA in music education (2013), returned to Idaho in August 2025 to conduct the Boise Baroque Orchestra in a series of four concerts. During the performances, Wiley led local musicians, including several of his former teachers.

As a rising figure in the orchestral conducting world, Wiley serves as an assistant conductor for orchestras in Cincinnati and Kansas City. He is also the music director for the Salisbury Symphony in North Carolina. His work has taken him to various cities across the nation, including Fairbanks and Jacksonville.

Wiley, who grew up in Riverside, California, began his musical journey at Boise State, where he participated in the Blue Thunder Marching Band and the Boise State Symphony Orchestra. While studying music education, he started practicing orchestral conducting, laying the foundation for his future career.

Despite holding multiple positions at prestigious orchestras, Wiley continues to work with young musicians at various levels.
