Wicomico Teacher of the Year Celebrated at Gala

On October 4, Debbie Reynolds, the 2024-2025 Wicomico Teacher of the Year from Wicomico Middle School, attended the Maryland Teacher of the Year Gala in Hunt Valley. She was among 23 local teachers of the year from across the state. Debbie Reynolds is a graduate of James M. Bennett High School and has previously attended Bennett Middle, Prince Street Elementary, and Pittsville Elementary and Middle.

Wicomico County Public Schools expressed appreciation for Ms. Reynolds, noting her role as a representative of the county's educational community. She will hold the title of Wicomico Teacher of the Year until April, when the 2025-2026 award will be announced. Starting November 1, nominations for the new Teacher of the Year will be accepted for deserving teachers currently serving in Wicomico County schools.

Pittsburgh launches CitiSports Spring League for high schoolers

Pittsburgh Parks & Recreation announced the CitiSports Spring League for high school students at Arlington Recreation Center in Pittsburgh, which will begin April 17, 2025, with games from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursdays at 2201 Salisbury St., Pittsburgh, PA 15210; the coed program is open to students ages 19 and younger who are still enrolled in high school, requires teams to register with each team providing its own shirts, and registration can be arranged by contacting Recreation Supervisor Ebony Randall at 412-740-8744, with Learn and Earn representatives on site to assist applicants.

CitiSports Spring League Opens for Pittsburgh Middle Schoolers
